(SUNRISE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP) After a delicious breakfast transfer to El Pilar, where the hiking trail for today's adventure begins. We will start by walking in a dense forest of lengas, that protect us from the winds coming off the Continental Ice Field. Right from the start we are able to see lots of different glaciers; Marconi, Eléctrico, Cagliero and in the distance, towards Lago del Desierto, the Vespignani glacier. The path is easy as it’s quite flat and the climbs are gentle. We arrive at our first viewpoint, Piedras Blancas glacier and a bit later we leave the forest and end up in a clearing where we can admire in all their splendour the peaks of “S”, Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Fitz Roy, Mermoz and Guillaumet.

From here we continue for a few more minutes until we arrive at Poincenot camp ground, located in beautiful lenga forest inhabited by countless varieties of birds, which will accompany us with their song until we reach the campground Río Blanco. This is the base camp for the most adventurous climbers who will attempt to conquer these granite masses. We then climb 400m in about an hour until we arrive at Laguna de los Tres. On arriving at the highest point on the path, we are rewarded by the majestic views of Fitz Roy, the glacier de los Tres and its lagoon. The grandeur of this location makes you feel very insignificant. From here we circle Laguna de los Tres and head towards the viewpoint of the Laguna Sucia and its glacier. Again, the breathtaking views are unforgettable.

After a rest and a bite for lunch, we will start the descent and walk back to El Chaltén. (SUNSET PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP)

Workshop Leaders:

Chris Poplawski-@chrisroams ,a Southern California native and photographer who loves experiencing new landscapes and engaging with wildlife in their natural element. I’ve been traveling the world for the last 3 years, working with brands, tourism agencies, and mixing in weddings. I’ve also launched a creative agency this year, focusing on commercial work with the same partners involved on this trip. I’d like to teach my approach and application to photography (for all levels of experience) while helping individuals find balance both in traveling, and doing this for work. Building a business can be complex, and I’d like to pass on the ways I’ve helped establish myself with photography.

Megan Bourne-@mlbourne ,a full-time adventure and wedding photographer. I specialize in shooting elopements in the outdoors, and mix in a lot of brand and tourism work with our media agency. Outside of photography, I absolutely love distance running, snowboarding, surfing, and petting every dog I see. I love being out of my comfort zone and placed in situations where I can grow as an individual and with those around me. Life would be too ordinary if we constantly stayed in our comfort zones. I’m stoked to take this trip with you and see what this amazing country has to offer! Throughout this workshop, I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned about outdoor adventure photography, adapting to the ever changing elements you experience in the mountains to still capture images you’re proud of, and of course diving into outdoor elopement photography for those interested in shooting epic weddings. I’m an open book and would love to share what I’ve learned about this industry over my 3 years of working and 4 years of studying it while obtaining my bachelors degree.

Zeek Yan- @zeekyan, a Los Angeles based filmmaker/photographer. My passion started with being able to capture a moment and encapsulate the feelings I had in a video or image. Today, I spend my time working with brands curating content. I will be teaching visual storytelling through video. Participants will have the chance to learn how to film in the field and create impactful shots. I’ll go over some general film theory and participants have the option to have their video critiqued through an editing workshop.

Phil Nguyen- @philngyn , a commercial photographer and videographer specializing in travel, lifestyle, and brand narrative and is a proud member of the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective. Born in Houston, Texas and based in Los Angeles, California, Phil adopted photography to visually interpret his changing environments and the people around him with an emphasis on storytelling and emotion while retaining a unique aesthetic. Along with his extensive travels throughout North & South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, he has worked on numerous campaigns with large and world-renowned brands while his photography and creative style has garnered much adoration across various social media platforms.
