Day 1: Golden Circle and South Coast

Pick up: 8am from Reykavik City Hotel (please inquire about a list of Hotels we pick-up from, or book our Blue Lagoon Pre/Post Extension)

We will start bright and early(Pick up at 8-8:30 am) and head out on a journey through the Golden Circle—an area teeming with Iceland’s must-see spots, from natural beauty to places of historical and cultural significance. Our first stop will be Thingvellir National Park, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for both its historical and geological importance. From there we will travel to the world-renowned Geyser hot spring area where you will see the incredible Geysers throw water and steam up to 25 meters into the air. Other highlights include a visit to Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Waterfalls before returning to the hotel.

Day 2: Vík - Skaftafell - Glacier Lagoon - Höfn

Start the day right with a hearty breakfast before traveling to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, lined with staggering basalt columns, the former island Dyrhólaey, and the famous Sólheimasandur plane wreckage. In 1973, a U.S. Naval plane ran out of fuel, crashing among the black sand, where the remains can still be found today. Other highlights include a drive across the Eldhraun lava field to Skaftafell , a hike up Vatnajokull, the largest glacier in Europe, and Jökulsárlón Glacier lagoon. After sunset, head back to the hotel for a cozy evening and robust dinner.

Day 3: East Fjords - Djúpivogur - Egilsstaðir

You’ll begin the day traveling by car through the East Fjords. As you pass by little towns, such as Djúpivogur and Egilsstadir, you’ll get a taste of what local life in Iceland is truly like. Savor traditional food and alluring sights as you continue your journey through the East Fjords. As you continue onwards, you’ll pass through the barren wasteland of Mödrudalsöraefi. In this area of isolation, the only view is mountains rising on the horizon. Eventually the path will lead to one of Iceland’s ultimate destinations—Dettifoss waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in all of Europe. In the evening, unwind with a soak in the electric blue Myvatn Nature Baths.

Day 4: Dettifoss - Mývatn - Goðafoss - Akureyri

Fuel up with an early breakfast before venturing out on the nature reserve surrounding Lake Myvatn. Hike through lava formations, underground baths, and craters. Continue on through the Reykjadalur Valley to the ethereal Godafoss Waterfall, known as the Waterfall of the Gods and one of the most magical places in all of Iceland. Spend the afternoon warming up at a local coffee shop, with some traditional Icelandic sweets. By nightfall you’ll reach Eyjafjördur in Akureyri—your next destination and Iceland's second largest city.

Day 5: Whale watching in Dalvík - Siglufjörður -Tröllaskagi - Bifröst

This morning, it’s straight to the sea to explore Eyjafjördur even further. You’ll find an abundance of diverse marine life, including a large population of humpback whales. Afterwards, you’ll travel through many small villages, including Hvammstangi—one of the best places for seal watching. As you venture further into the Western Fjords, you’ll be treated to even more stunning views; and if the weather allows it, you may even catch a glimpse of the magical northern lights.

Day 6:Borgarfjörður - Reykholt - Hraunfossar - Hvalfjörður - Reykjavík

Wake up early to bask in the mystical sunrise over the Borgarfjördur area—a location popular with photographers due to its impressive hot springs and waterfalls, such as Hraunfossar and Barnafossar. You’ll have the opportunity to hike to the mountain’s peak before heading to the sea cliffs and strolling through the sleepy coastal villages famous for their geology, trade history, geography and wildlife. Take one last look at Hvalfjördur Fjord before traveling back Reykjavik and preparing for your flight home late in the evening / or the next day.

Arrival Airport: Keflavík International Airport (KEF)

Day 0 (Pre Night): Arrive to the Keflavík International Airport, where you will be greeted by your driver and taken to your hotel in Iceland where you will enjoy a relaxing evening prior to the start of your tour experience early the following morning. Accommodation: Fosshotel Reykjavik or similar

Day 6 (Post Night): After a busy week exploring Iceland, continue on to the famous Blue Lagoon. There you will find volcanically heated turquoise waters that are very rich in nutrients and are at the perfect temperature. Soaking in its replenishing waters is a truly incredible experience that will remain with you for the rest of your life. Its waters are sourced from the Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant making it eco-friendly and 100% ethical! Accommodation: Fosshotel Reykjavik or similar

Day 7: Enjoy a delicious breakfast before packing up your bags and departing the airport to catch your international flights back to the United States or your home country.
