Morocco Travel Guide

Last month we traveled to the fascinating country of Morocco with a special group of content creators, influencers, and brands. We experienced the magic and awe of this country, taking in the bustling souks with brightly colored silks and baskets of spices, the expansive dunes of the Sahara, and the vibrant shades of blue blanketing the town of Chefchaouen. Take a look at a few of the unforgettable highlights from our Moroccan experience.

Traveler Spotlight: Hannah's Trip to Iceland

Earlier this year, I won a trip to Reykjavik, Iceland through the Acanela sweepstakes. I’ll first say, I’ve never entered into a sweepstakes before, let alone any contests. I’ve always been skeptical, thinking that no one actually ever won any trips. But two weeks later, I received an email confirming the trip. And 6 months after that, my boyfriend, Peter, and I finally set off in late October for a long weekend in Iceland.

Olivia and her friend Sarah Herron, who appeared on Sean Lowe’s season of The Bachelor and on two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, are coming at you from their tour bus in Morocco on an Acanela Expeditions trip! The two are talking about their trip through the country and how it came about, what an influencer trip really means, and they’re so committed to the episode that they’re taking the podcast equipment into the woods while spotting monkeys in the wild!

UVU Culinary Arts: Brooke's Journey from Venice to the Vatican

My Culinary Trip with Acanela Expeditions was worth every Penny! Acanela had connections with people and places I could have never found on my own. In fact, many of the cities we visited I had been to before but still felt as though I was visiting a new city. My dreams came true being able to learn to cook at a real Italian Farm To Table Restaurant! We were able to attend many food tours at try some of the most famous foods at some of the best restaurant venues! I loved my Culinary Trip to Italy and would highly recommend that everyone visit Italy!

Gabrielle's Kilimanjaro Climb

Gabrielle's Kilimanjaro Climb

The magnitude of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro did not occur to me until I was on the airplane, flying past the tallest free-standing mountain in Africa. Seeing the mountain for the first time, I was overwhelmed by nervous excitement, and humbled by the mass my brother and I would soon attempt to climb. That was the first time it truly occurred to me what we were in Tanzania to

Best time to visit Galapagos and Machu Picchu

Best time to visit Galapagos and Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is one of the top places to visit in of South America, followed very closely by the Galapagos Islands.  A journey to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands is a trip that every traveler should take once in their lives.  So, when is the best time to visit Galapagos and Machu Picchu?  Typically Spring (April-June) and Fall (Sep-Nov) is the best time to visit, as the weather is mild and pleasant in both countries.

Why I love traveling with my Adult Daughter

Why I love traveling with my Adult Daughter

Long bus rides up the coast of Portugal eating a jar of peanut butter together, watching elephants bathe in the river and feeling like a Mahout, going to an Indian pow wow in our own backyard, learning how to take a good selfie, and eating ice cream for every meal just because we could. This is what traveling with my daughter looks like!

Meghan and Linda's Adventures in Greece

Meghan and Linda's Adventures in Greece

We were so excited to begin our Greek adventure with Acanela! We have traveled together before but nothing as adventurous as this trip to Europe. As soon as we arrived in Athens we enjoyed our first meal at Smile Cafe (literally the name) which was a perfect way to begin the journey because that’s what we did every time we had a great meal or great experience. Every tour was educational, every meal was amazing, and every new experience was memorable!

Like Mother Like Daughter: Taking on Thailand

Like Mother Like Daughter: Taking on Thailand

A routine challenge to myself is to keep an open mind and an unwavering sense of adventure. This has ultimately lead to the development of a quite the long bucket list of exotic destinations I want to travel to. People often ask, "why would you want to go there?" and I simply respond with, "well why not?" Relatedly, the older I get, the more I realize that the 'apple hasn't fallen far from the tree' and much of my adventurousness and "always yes" attitude can be attributed to my mother - so who better to travel the globe with?

Traveler Spotlight | Mai's Journey to Peru

Traveler Spotlight | Mai's Journey to Peru

Acanela’s Peru Expedition exceeded our expectations! We arrived in Cusco the day before the tour started because our flight from Lima was canceled the previous day due to weather in Cusco. Our guide Domingo was waiting at the airport. He met us in the evening to take us to dinner and made alternate arrangements to visit a textile cooperative instead of the horseback ride for the next morning due to the weather forecast. Lunch later at a private home was delicious.
