Day 1: Arrive to Beijing

Arrival Airport: Beijing International Airport Welcome to China! To start your tour, you will meet your driver at the Beijing Airport after claiming your luggage and clearing customs. You will be transferred to your hotel in Beijing where you can check in and relax. The rest of the day is left for you to relax or to become familiar with the beautiful capital city on your own. Day 2: Visit to Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutangs

After a delicous breakfast at your hotel, we will begin our day going to Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest square! Then we will spend a few hours in one of the most magnificant sites in all of China - the Forbidden City. You will walk where only imperial emperors walked for hundreds of years. That afternoon, we will go to the Hutangs to visit traditional Bejing families and see the authentic culture. And finally, we will see the largest Tibetan Temple in Beijing - the Lama Temple. Day 3: Great Wall of China

Today is the day! After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive out to the Mutianyu area of the Great Wall of China. On the way, we will be able to see the iconic stadiums of the 2008 Olympics in China - the Bird Nest and the Olympic Water Cube. Enjoy a couple hours hiking up and down the Great Wall today, and marvel at it's construction and beauty. Accomdation: Park Plaza Beijing or similar

Day 4: Beijing/Xi'an by High Speed Train

After breakfast today, we will visit the Temple of Heaven - the largest Imperial place of worship from ancient times. Then you will get to enjoy the famous Pearl Market nearby, with four full floors of amazing souveniers and unique items. Don't be afraid to bargain! Afterwards, we will travel to the Summer Palace, a beautifully preserved summer resort for Imperial family members. Then, we will take an afternoon high speed train to Xi'an (5.5 hrs), and be picked up at the railway station & transfer to your hotel with your driver. Day 5: Terra Cotta Warriors and Big Goose Pagoda

Wake up early today and prepare to see one of the most important archaeological finds of recent history - the Terra Cotta Warriors! More than 7,000 terra cotta figures have already been unearthed, and the work is still going. After, we will visit the famous Big Goose Pagoda, originally built in 652 AD! Then we will visit the Muslim Street of Xi'an to explore the wonderful resturants and shops there. Accomodation: Eastern House Boutique Hotel or similar

Day 6: Xi'an

After another lovely breakfast, explore the city wall, Drum Tower, Great Mosque, and Hangyang Tombs Museum in Xi'an. After a full day of history and exploration, return to the hotel for a relaxing evening. Accomodation: Eastern House Boutique Hotel or similar

Day 7: Departure Day

After a delicious breakfast and leisurely morning, we will say goodbye to Xi'an as we depart to catch our international flights back home - or extend your stay another 4-days in Shanghai (see Shanghai extension directly below).

Day 7: After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will say goodbye to Xi'an and hop on a plane to Shanghai (about 3 hours). Upon arrival, our driver will take us to our hotel in Shanghai where we can check in and relax. The rest of the day is left to explore and become familiar with the beautiful city on your own. Accomodation: Les Suites Orient Bund Shanghai or similar

Day 8: Today is a full day in Shanghai! We will visit the Long Hua Temple & Pagoda, the Old Town area of Shanghai with the famous Yu Yuan Garden and Bazaar, explore Xintiandi (an area with traditional "stone gate" (Shikumen) houses on narrow alleys and museum, experience a local flower and bird market, eat lunch at a local restaurant, and explore one of the top places in Shanghai - The Bund! Here we will also see the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, which is the center of trade in Shangahi, and also full of the high skyscrapers. Accomodation: Les Suites Orient Bund Shanghai or similar

Day 9: Today we will explore the local famous French Quarter and little White House there, and explore the history of Shangahi in the French Quarter museum and local shops. After a delicious lunch, we will get to visit on of the true delights of Shanghai, Zhujiajiao. Similar to Venice, this village is crisscrossed by rivers and canals, with 9 long streets running along the rivers and thousand of buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture flanking both sides. Day 10: After an amazing trip to China, we will say goodbye, and travel back home to share our treasures, pictures, and adventures with our families and friends.
