Day 2: Venice | Grand Canal & St. Mark’s Basilica This morning, journey by private boat across the Venetian Lagoon to the islands of Murano & Burano—home to Venice’s famous glassblowing and handmade lace shops. Discover how artisans blow glass into delicate works of art and carefully weave lace into intricate designs. Afterwards, embark on a walking tour of Piazza San Marco, including a visit to the stunning St. Mark’s Basilica. Day 3: Venice | Savor Local Flavors Wake up to a delicious Italian breakfast before departing for the day’s activities. Live like a local by perusing the artisan markets along Rialto Bridge. Day 4: Venice/Florence | Renaissance Art Galleries Today you’ll begin with a 2 hour ride to Florence. After arriving at the hotel in the early afternoon, follow your private guide on a walking tour of the city, starting at the famed Uffizi Gallery—home to world-renowned artwork, such as Caravaggio’s Medusa, Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Leonardo da Vinci’s Annunciation, and Raphael’s Madonna of the Goldfinch. After soaking up the gallery’s beauty, utilize an afternoon of leisure to explore the myriad of markets, museums, and galleries that make Florence a truly remarkable place. Day 6: Chianti | Cycle Through Tuscany’s Villages & Vineyards | Chianti Travel with your guide bright and early to one of Tuscany's lovely medieval villages in the breathtaking Chianti countryside. Stroll through its historic center, grab a cappuccino on the piazza, and visit the local winery where you’ll learn about the production of wine and olive oil. For those wanting a scenic cycling tour, you can join your guide on a 10 to 12-mile voyage down quiet paths, through picturesque vineyards and olive groves, and past cypress trees and stone farmhouses. With views this stunning, you'll wonder how it could get any better. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at an agriturismo set in a magical landscape; its ancient stone buildings—some dating back to the 11th century—have been restored with great care, keeping to their original character. Day 7: Florence to Rome | Orvieto Visit | Colloseum & Roman Forum As you travel to Rome by private vehicle, stop along the way for a guided walking tour of the hillside city of Orvieto. You’ll arrive in Rome by the early afternoon and have time to explore the ancient city, starting at Capitoline Hill before continuing on to the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Palazzo Nuovo, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, ending at the famous Colosseum. Day 8: Rome | Vatican & Sistine Chapel Wake up to a traditional Italian breakfast before setting out to explore the world-famous Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. Day 9: Depart Rome | Arrive Home / Santorini Extension The time has come to say “Arrivederci!” to Italy, as you depart on your flight home. If you’re not ready to leave paradise just yet, join the 3-Day Greece extension.
3 Day Greece Extension: Instead of flying home, head to the magical island of Santorini, known for its volcanic sand beaches, crystal clear waters, vibrant blue rooftops, white-washed buildings, sprawling hilltops, and abundant whimsical flowers. Spend 3 days exploring all the island has to offer and attending a Mediterranean cooking class before finally flying home (via Athens).
