The Best Beaches in Bali

A beautiful Indonesian Island with volcanic peaks and rice paddy fields, Bali is a paradise. Bali is the gateway to the good life, with warm weather, meditation retreats, and plenty of places to explore! Also not to be missed are the amazing beaches along the island’s coastline, from resorts towns to the secret spots, here is a definitive list of the best beaches in Bali, Indonesia!

Bali, Indonesia

Padang Padang Beach, Uluwatu - After being one of the picturesque filming locations of ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ starring Julia Roberts, Padang Padang Beach finally started getting the recognition it deserved. The bay is a perfect spot for surfers, or sunbathers who want to enjoy the beautiful rock formations. We highly suggest waking up early and heading here to catch the sunrise! Crowds do start to appear mid-morning, so make sure you find yourself a good spot to set up on the beach.

Seminyak Beach, South Bali - A five-kilometer stretch of white sand, you could easily spend your entire trip at Seminyak Beach. The gentle waves make it a great place to learn how to surf, and there are tons of great bars, restaurants, and hotels right on the beach!

Echo Beach, Canggu - What was once a quiet, black volcanic sand beach has become one of the most chic spots on the island! Echo Beach is great for those who like to party. The trendy bars around here are frequented by those living the “digital nomad” lifestyle, so there’s no shortage of people here trying to get that perfect “instagrammable” shot.

Bali, Indonesia

Nusa Dua Beach, South Bali - Nusa Dua is probably one of the most perfect white sand beaches in the world. A reclaimed beach from what was once an overgrown mangrove area, this beach has some of the prettiest hotels and resorts in Bali. There’s tons of shopping and restaurants in the area, and is a great family-friendly spot.

Medewi Beach, West Bali - Medewi Beach can give visitors a glimpse of what Bali was like before it’s tourism industry started booming. This beach is quiet, except for the few surfers who come here for the good waves. The sunsets at Medewi Beach are also not to be missed!

Suluban Beach, Uluwatu - This beach is completely hidden until the tide comes out. The small sandy beach surrounded by high rocky cliffs is a great spot to unwind and relax. Surrounded by clear, blue waters, you’ll never want to leave Suluban.

Bali, Indonesia

Balian Beach, West Bali - You will feel as if you have been transported to another planet when you step foot onto the black volcanic sand of Balian Beach. This secret spot in West Bali has become a favorite among expats living in the area. Although the road to get here is in poor condition, it’s well worth it to escape the resort areas of the island. Who knows, maybe Balian Beach will become your new favorite spot!

Nusa Penida Island - Just off the South East coast of Bali, lies a tiny island you can access by boat. Nusa Penida is not only a great place to explore that’s much less developed than Bali, it also has a stunning beach below 400 meters of rock cliffs! On the South West side of Nusa Penida, Kelingking Beach is a white sand haven; built for the perfect getaway for those willing to make the trek. Although the island does have a few small cafes here and there, so try to pack everything for the day ahead of time, including towels, sunscreen, and anything else you might need (we suggest bringing the Adventure Dress, made by female artisans in Indonesia!).

On the Indonesian island of Bali, there’s no shortage of stunning beaches for visitors to explore. From quiet, to trendy, and everything in between, Bali has got it all! Did you know that on a trip to Bali with Acanela, you could spend 7 days exploring the island? You’ll have the chance to visit the monkey forest in Ubud, explore the rice terraces, go on a coffee tour, and you could even extend your trip to Sumatra, where you’ll go orangutan trekking! Reserve your spot today!
