Houseplants That Will Remind You of Gardens Around the World

Everyone is getting busy in their daily lives and wants some shortcuts to stay connected to nature. One of the best methods of spreading greenery is to put plants inside your home.  This indoor touch is a terrific way to lift your spirits, add color to your home, and practice gardening. Many people keep houseplants to filter the air, but there are some crucial facts to remember regarding houseplants. If you’re not aware of the houseplants that will remind you of gardens around the world, look at the list here in this blog.

Cactus

Even the most plant-phobic people are likely to have a cactus or succulent at home, and these prickly little plants are ideal for daydreaming about the desert. The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona, showcases the variety and ruggedly gorgeous flora that thrive in the world's hottest locations.

Cactus, aloe, and agave gardens (two-thirds of the world's cactus species are represented here, including the huge saguaro), desert wildflowers, grasslands, and edible plants are all part of the walking pathways.

Orchid

We've all had a grocery store orchid and enjoyed its ephemeral blossoms at one time or another. The National Orchid Garden in Singapore is a real wonderland of extra terrestrial-Esque orchids, with 1000 species and 2000 varieties of hybrids over 60,000 distinct plants. The orchid breeding effort at the garden began in 1928, and the collection now includes 200 species that are found nowhere else on the earth.

The Orchid Garden is part of the Singapore Botanic Garden, which is the only tropical botanical garden on the list and was awarded a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2015.

Fiddle Leaf Fig tree

The fiddle-leaf fig is a kind of ficus with broad, paddle-shaped leaves that is one of the most popular indoor trees. Its striking foliage thrives in filtered, indirect light, so place it near an east or west-facing window. Water only once a week, and don't water if the soil is still damp when you touch it.

The leaves of these sensitive trees may yellow or turn brown if they receive too much water, so limit watering if you notice these signs. If the leaves appear drooping, though, give your plant some water. Maintain a high level of humidity around it as well.

Ferns

Sprawling ferns conjure up images of various lush green settings around the world, but the ferns of Cornwall's Lost Gardens of Heligan have their own narrative to tell. The Gardens were once part of a major English estate that fell into disrepair after WWI; unlike other estates that suffered the same fate, the site was not sold or maintained until the mid-1990s, when a massive restoration effort brought the gardens back to life.

It's one of the world's largest restored gardens, so take your time wandering the estate grounds, crossing a rope bridge over the tops of ancient tree ferns, or strolling through the national garden of rhododendrons.

Potted Irises

The Montreal Botanical Gardens are home to some of the world's largest and most beautiful plant collections, including everything from alpine plants and rare varieties to poisonous flora and giant rose flowers. Flowery Brook, on the other hand, is a stunning portion that incorporates countless lilies and lilacs into a colorful explosion straight out of an impressionist painting.

Find a chair or a bench among the blooms and relax, keeping an eye out for butterflies and birds. You can also use grow lights to help the plants grow indoors. Grow lights are a great help in nurturing indoor houseplants.

Monstera

Horticulturist Anthony Hunte has curated and cultivated one of the Caribbean's most unique collections of beautiful plants in a sinkhole in his backyard in Barbados' St Joseph Parish, a visit here feels like a trip into a mythological land. Mr. Hunte will be on property to tell you all about his verdant sinkhole oasis and offer you a glass of rum punch if you're lucky.

Giant monsters mingle beneath a canopy of palms, while leafy ferns and flowering bromeliads line the stone paths. Monstera is also a popular plant that people like to keep in their houses.

Conclusion

So, these are the houseplants that will surely remind you of some of the popular places present in different corners of the world. It’s your chance to choose these plants to decorate your house and take the essence of some popular gardens of the world.
