Perissa Beach

The island of Santorini is generally famous for its volcanoes, but because of the uniqueness of it, the Perissa beach makes a name for itself. The black sand created from volcanic rock of the island gives this beach an interesting yet breathtaking look to it. Because the sand is so dense, almost none of it gets carried up by the calm waters so the ocean here is extremely clear. You can enjoy the vibrant blue tones of the Mediterranean Sea here from right on the black sand or from many of the little shops and restaurants that line the beach.

Aegeon Beach

Very few places in the world have such a deep cultural history as this place. Sitting right on the hill above Aegeon Beach are the ruins of the ancient temple of the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. This beach in Athens is not only a great place to visit if you are a history buff, but also if you just enjoy a good place to have some fun. The water is extremely blue, just as most water off the coast of Greece is. The beach is nice and relaxing with umbrellas and chairs set up for the public to enjoy. Swimming and other water sports are very common here. Overall, this beach has something for everyone to enjoy.
