Day 1 | Bali: Today you will arrive in Bali, Indonesia, ready for an experience of a lifetime. We will get acclimatized to the new climate by having an introduction lesson to Indonesia. we will spend the afternoon on a walking tour of Bali and catch golden hour by photographing the amazing sunset. In the evening we will have a traditional welcome dinner as we learn about Indonesian culture & cuisine. Accommodation: Bali Beach Retreat | Meals: (B, D)
Day 2-3 | Bali: Spend your first full day in Indonesia immersing yourself in the historical and cultural highlights that Bali has to offer - including a visit to some of the most fascinating temples and palaces in the region. Bali is home to some of Indonesia's most picturesque temples - such as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, a temple that stands on the edge of an ocean cliff overlooking the ocean nearly 70 meters below. You will visit places such as Kerta Gosa - the Royal Court House, Besakih Temple - Bali's largest temple complex, Guning Kawi - an 11th century temple, Goa Gajah - the elephant cave, and Kintamani Volcano. After your tour of Bali, you will have time to explore the beaches, catching a wave on a surfboard or even snorkeling in the pristine waters. Day 4-5 | Lombak: In the morning after another delicious breakfast, take a short ferry ride from Bali to it's sister island - Lombok. This beautiful island is situated right near the Gili Islands, home to Indonesia's highest peak, the colcano Gunung Agung. Lombok is known to have some of the most pristine white beaches and beautiful underwater corals in all of Indonesia. Over the course of the next several days your days will be filled with snorkeling (or scuba diving), strolling along the beach, exploring the beauty of some of Indonesia's volcanoes, visiting traditional bamboo villages, and dining on delicious Indonesian cuisine. You will leave this little island wanting nothing more than to come back... Accommodation: Luxurious Beach Villa | Meals: (B)
Day 6-8 | Ubud: After a delicious buffet breakfast at your hotel, we will spend the day visiting the Jungle and visit to the Purah Lot Temple. It is one of the six directional temples sacred to Balinese Hindus, Pura Luhur Batukaru was built on the slopes of Mount Batukaru during the 11th century and rebuilt to its current form in 1959. Surrounded by verdant jungle and often shrouded in mist, the grounds house a series of tiered shrines, the most important of which is the seven-tiered structure dedicated to the god Mahadewa. You will have lunch during the temple tour and finish the day with a tour of the rest of the jungle. Accommodation: The Green Village, Bamboo House (B, D)
Day 9 | Bali: In our last full day in Bali, we will take a tour of the local rice paddies and have a culinary tour of Ubud. Food in Indonesia is important to the people – the food tells the story of their cultures, lives and how they grew up. You will try a lot of different foods from off the beaten path. After this culinary tour, you will be inspired and seek to expand you culinary and cultural horizons.
