ITINERARY | 8 DAYS
Day 1: Athens: Arriving in Athens, we will take the time to adjust to the time change by having an introductory lesson of Athens, Greece. We will check into our hotel and be on our way to explore some parts of the city and eat a traditional Mediterranean meal for our welcome dinner. Accommodation: Electra Palace Athens or similar
Day 2: Athens: Today we will be up early to prepare for our first adventure in Athens. After a delicious buffet breakfast, we will head out to see the Acropolis, where the Parthenon temple is perched on a hill that oversaw all of the civilians. Then we’ll make our way and visit sites such as the Temple of Poseidon where the historic marathon took place. We will then eat an afternoon lunch close to the Byzantine Museum where you will have a guided tour through this amazing museum. With more than 25,000 artifacts on display, the Byzantine Museum is a treasury of religious artifacts from the Byzantine period as well as pieces from the early Christian, medieval, and post-Byzantine eras. We will end our day with a tour of the ancient Agora: Ruins of the ancient marketplace. You can take a little hike up to Agora Hill where the temple of Hephaistos resides. Day 3: Mykonos: Today we will board a cruise and set sail for Mykonos, one of Greece’s famous islands. We will have a relaxing day at Paradise beach when we arrive to Mykonos and enjoy the city night-life that Mykonos has to offer. We will also have a traditional welcome dinner from a local restaurant in Mykonos. Accommodation: Nissaki Boutique Hotel or similar
Day 4: Mykonos to Santorini: After a delicious breakfast buffet, we’ll set out to explore the Island of Delos. Today, you can wander about the ancient ruins of once-monumental structures like the Propylaea (formerly a grand marble archway) and the Sanctuary of Apollo. Travel experts say you should make some time to hike up the rocky Mount Kythnos (just southwest of the harbor) for excellent views of the surrounding islands. You can also find many of the artifacts recovered from Delos at the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos. There is no entry free but you will have to pay for the ferry ride there and back. We will end our evening back on the boat and enjoy a delicious dinner as we set sail for Santorini! Accommodation: Nissaki Boutique Hotel or similar
Day 5: Santorini: Today we arrive in beautiful Santorini, Greece. This place is known for volcanic-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, blue rooftops, white-washed buildings, beautiful hilltops and flowers everywhere you walk. We’ll start our day walking the Caldera Edge and admire the amazing panoramic views. We will eventually each Oia and have the chance to do some wine-tasting. We will end our day with a Mediterranean cooking class and cook with fresh seafood, spices, and vegetables for a delicious meal that you will get to enjoy after your class. Accommodation: Cave Hotel or Similar
Day 6: Santorini: Today we will enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet and set out to Red Beach in Santorini. At the tail end of the road to Ancient Akrotiri, this beach earned its name from its reddish volcanic sand. Like Santorini's other beaches, this red sandy strip comes with all the trimmings (beachside cafes and taverns); however, it is much less crowded than the more famous black-sand Kamari Beach. Travelers say the scenery is stunning — be sure to bring a camera to take photos of the stark contrast between the brick red cliffs and the aquamarine water. We will end our day with an evening dinner enjoy the beautiful sunset Santorini has to offer and set sail to Crete. Accommodation: Cave Hotel or Similar
Day 7: Crete: Crete is a magical tapestry of splendid beaches, ancient treasures, and landscapes encompassing vibrant cities and dreamy villages, where locals share their traditions, wonderful cuisine and generous spirit. Crete is your very own foodie heaven on an island. The locals make their own meat, cheese, olive oil, wine and catch their own seafood! We will have the chance to go to different markets and enjoy local tapestry from each market and try their amazing food. Accommodation: Casa Delfino or similar
Day 8: Crete: We will spend our last day in Crete exploring Samaria Gorge, a National Park on Crete’s island. It is one of the longest gorges in Europe. The hike starts at the Xyloskalo Trailhead - you will see amazing flora, fauna and a slew of amazing butterflies. There is so much natural beauty that can be seen while hiking this gorge. There are also little churches and remnants of villages along the way. If hiking is not your thing, we will have the chance to explore different beaches in Crete that will for sure take your breath away with their crystal clear waters and volcanic-sand beaches. Day 9: We will end our journey and make our way to the airport to go back home.
