Day 2: Venice | Grand Canal & St. Mark’s Basilica This morning you will journey by private boat across the Venetian Lagoon to the islands of Murano & Burano, home to Venice’s famous glass blowing & handmade lace artisans. See how the traditional glass is blown and the handmade lace is carefully weaved into beautiful designs. In the afternoon embark on a walking tour of St. Mark’s Square, including a visit to the stunning St. Mark’s Basilica. Day 3: Venice | Savor Local Flavors Wake up to a delicious breakfast before departing on your adventure for the day. Immerse yourself in local life with a visit to the artisan markets around the Rialto Bridge. In the afternoon have the opportunity to sample Venetian cuisine at some of the best Trattorias(small food venues) in Venice. Day 4: Venice/Florence | Renaissance Art Galleries After another delicious breakfast, depart your hotel for the beautiful city of Florence (2 hours travel). Arrive in the early afternoon and check into your hotel. Following check-in, you will depart with your private guide on a walking tour of Florence starting at the famed Uffizi Gallery where you will admire world-renowned artwork such as Caravaggio's Medusa, Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation and the Madonna of the Goldfinch by Raphael. Day 5: Florence | Michelangelo’s David Wake up early in the morning before the crowds appear to visit the famed Duomo and the Galleria dell'Accademia, home of the famous Michelangelo's David. Have the afternoon at your leisure to explore the myriad of markets, museums, and galleries that make Florence such a unique place to visit. Accommodation: Grand Hotel Baglioni | B
Day 6: Chianti | Cycle Through Tuscany’s Villages & Vineyards | Chianti Wake up bright and early, meet your guide, and transfer to one of Tuscany's lovely medieval villages in the breathtaking Chianti countryside. Stroll through its historic center, grab a cappuccino on the piazza, and visit the local winery where you will learn about the production of both wine and olive oil. For those wanting a scenic cycling tour, you can join your guide on a cycling tour journey across quiet roads through picturesque vineyards and olive groves, past cypresses and stone farmhouses (roughly 10-12 miles). With scenery this stunning you'll wonder how it can get any better. You will arrive at a traditional Agriturismo set in a magical landscape; its ancient stone buildings (some dating back to the 11th century) restored with great care and in keeping with their original character. In this historic setting, you will meet your chef, and have the opportunity to learn how to prepare mouth-watering Tuscan dishes in a hands-on cooking class. Day 7: Florence to Rome | Orvieto Visit | Colloseum & Roman Forum Today you will continue to Rome in your private vehicle, stopping for a guided walking tour of the hillside city of Orvieto. Arrive in Rome in the early afternoon, check into your hotel, and have the opportunity to explore ancient Rome with your expert guide, starting on Capitoline Hill before continuing on to the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Palazzo Nuovo, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, ending at the famous Colosseum. Day 8: Rome | Vatican & Sistine Chapel Wake up to savor a traditional Italian breakfast before you set out to explore the world famous Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. With your private guide, proceed to experience the outstanding highlights of the Vatican, including Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the frescoed ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Afterward, visit the Basilica of St. Peter, the world's largest church, and have the opportunity to gaze and some of the world’s most beautiful Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Day 9: Depart Rome | Arrive Home / Santorini Extension After breakfast, transfer to the Rome airport and depart on your international flights how - or continue your journey to the Greek Island of Santorini. Arrive in Santorini, a member of the Cyclades island group and one of the most popular destinations in Greece. Day 10: Santorini | White Houses & Culinary Delights Welcome to the beautiful Santorini Greece, known for volcanic-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, blue rooftops, white-washed buildings, beautiful hilltops and flowers everywhere you walk. Starting in Fira, enjoy a tour of some of the most famous archeological sites & artisan markets on the island. Continue on to Oia where you will spend the afternoon walking the Caldera Edge and admire the amazing panoramic views. We will end our day with a Mediterranean cooking class at one of the best restaurants in Fira - cooking with fresh seafood, spices, and vegetables to prepare a delicious meal that you will get to enjoy after your class. Day 11: Santorini | Red & Black Sand Beaches Today you will enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet and set out on an ATV journey to the famous Red & Black sand beach in Santorini. At the end of the road to Ancient Akrotiri, this beach earned its name from its reddish volcanic sand. Like Santorini's other beaches, this red sandy strip comes with all the trimmings (beachside cafes and taverns); however, it is much less crowded than the more famous black-sand Kamari Beach. Travelers say the scenery is stunning — be sure to bring a camera to take photos of the stark contrast between the brick red cliffs and the aquamarine water.
