TANZANIA SAFARI

The Serengeti is one of the world's most sought after safari lands.  It is home to some of the largest numbered animal herds and indigenous tribes in all of Africa, and is considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world.  As a UNESCO World Heritage Site the Serengeti boasts numerous lakes and rivers, the Great Rift Valley, and the world's largest caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater.  The Serengeti is also within easy reach of Mount Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar Islands, the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

ITINERARY | 8 DAYS:

Day 1:  After arriving from your international flight (via Nairobi, Kenya) you will be greeted in the heart of Tanzania at the Kilimanjaro National Airport - the entrance to the famous free standing Kilimanjaro mountain and the famous Serengeti Safari Lands, famous for the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit.  Here we will have time to adjust to the time change and enjoy a traditional welcome dinner where we will experience the flavors of authentic Eastern African cuisine.  We will overnight in Arusha in preparation for the start of our Safari the next day.  Accommodation: Arusha Lodge

Day 2:  You will be met bright and early at your hotel by your private driver and expert guide. From here you will embark on the start of your five day safari adventure through the Northern Circuit of the Serengeti. Our first adventure will be in Tarangire National Park where we will have our first game drive - experiencing a wide diversity of animals.  Here we will have our first encounter with lions, elephants, giraffes, and many other magestic safari animals.  Tarangire is known for it's large elephant population and infamous tree-climbing lions. For the next 4 nights you will overnight in a luxury tented camp that is located in the central part of the Serengeti National Park.  Relax around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the wild and falling asleep under the stars. Accommodation: Safari Tents

Day 3: Today our drive will take us deep into the rift valley and into the heart of the Serengeti National Park.  We will visit lake Manyara National Park where  you will see a rich variety of wildlife roaming the African Savannah that stretches out as far as the eye can see.  Lake Manyara is known for it's large flamingo flocks -- a stunning photo opportunity.  We will pass through the village of Mto-wa-Mbu where we will have an opportunity to have a cultural encounter with  the local Maasai people - the most famous East African tribe originally inhabiting the East Africa Rift Valley. The Maasai people are nomadid herders known for their fierce warfare and jumping abilities.  In the evening you will have the opportuity to enjoy a traditional dinner cooked by talented local chefs. Day 4: Today we will continue our exploration in the heart of the Serengeti, passing rural villages and observing the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo).  We may even have the opportunity to experience a part of the great migration where masses of wildebeest and other game animals migrate across the rivers and plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara in Kenya.  The migration attracts predators in the region that prey on the migrating animals.  Accommodation: Safari Tents

Day 5: Our journey today will take us into the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area.  The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  We will drive along the Crater's rim observing the beautiful flora and fauna around us. Accommodation: Safari Tents
